Meet The Artist

Hi, I'm Waverley, a 29 year old self taught artist from the South East of England. I live here with my husband and my fur babies.

After finishing school, I headed straight into the corporate world however I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember.

I always regretted not pursuing art as a career sooner and believed I had missed my chance until I saw this quote;

"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, but the second best time is right now."

This quote gave me the motivation I needed, so here I am!

My dream is to share my art with the world and at the same time raise awareness for the causes that mean the most to me.

I am a self-taught painter, mixed-media artist, and published illustrator. My work is rooted in a lifelong fascination with the natural world—it's creatures, colours, and quiet stories—which continue to guide both my creative voice and the subjects I return to again and again.

With no formal art training, I’ve carved my own path: refining my style through hands-on exploration, instinct, and an unwavering passion for creating. Over the years, this journey has taken many forms—painting, set design, illustration—and has led to my artwork being showcased in a gallery. Each experience has helped me build a distinctive visual language shaped by curiosity, emotion, and a deep connection to nature.

Animals have always been at the heart of my life and my work, and witnessing how they are often treated by humans has profoundly shaped my artistic purpose. Their vulnerability, resilience, and quiet dignity fuel my need to contribute—however I can—to a kinder, more compassionate world for them.

Through my art, I hope to shine a gentle but honest light on the beauty and worth of the animals we share this planet with. If my paintings can spark empathy, raise awareness, or inspire even a small step toward positive change, then I feel my work is doing what it was meant to do.

Thank you for joining me on my journey.

Artivism

My deep passion for nature and wildlife drives my commitment to artivism. Witnessing the unnecessary suffering and destruction caused by human actions inspires me to create art that speaks to these issues, aiming to touch hearts and inspire change.

Causes Close to My Heart
#EndTheCull: The unnecessary culling of badgers disrupts ecosystems and is a cause I am deeply invested in. My art aims to raise awareness and funds for Badger Trust who are working tirelessly to spread awareness.

Ending Poaching and the Ivory Trade: Poaching threatens species like rhinos and elephants with extinction. It is imperative we work to increase these animal's numbers in the wild.

Rehabilitating Animals: Reintroducing animals into their natural habitats is crucial for biodiversity. My art supports organizations dedicated to animal rescue and rehabilitation.

Supporting Organisations

The following organizations are doing incredible work to protect our wildlife.

  • Badger Trust: Advocating for badger protection in the UK.
  • Aspinall Foundation: Focused on the conservation and reintroduction of endangered species.
  • Helping Rhinos: Working to conserve Rhinos and their habitats.
  • Fripps Farm Animal Rescue: Rescuing and rehabilitating animals.

My goal is to foster a connection between viewers and the natural world, inspiring them to take action. Join me in this journey to make a difference through artivism. Together, we can protect our planet and its precious inhabitants.
